There are so many fascinating, informative, and funny blogs devoted to children's literature on the web. This month The Edge of the Forest takes a look at kidlitosphere activities during the month of September. With back-to-school, back to teaching and library posts, the sphere has been busy, busy, busy!
First and foremost, and breaking our policy of not citing The Edge of the Forest
authors, MotherReader set off a firestorm of listing and considering the Best Books
	of 2006 (so far).

Leila at Bookshelves of Doom continues her series of reviews of Nancy Drew,
this month taking on The Secret of Red Gate Farm: Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, #6

Tockla covers an interesting writing event, William Nicholson at The Space, for
	Tockla's World of Children's Literature

Colleen Mondor talks about reviewing at Chasing Ray

J.L. Bell reads Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl as a nationalist statement at Oz and Ends.

Sherry says hello to autumn in a wonderful post at Semicolon.

The always smart Gail Gauthier just "has to wonder" about overworked cliches in
Young Adult Literature at Original Content

Julie and Eisha, working together at the fabulous new blog, Seven Impossible Things
Before Breakfast, consider New Picture Books That You Cannot Live Without in three
parts (part 1, part 2, part 3, presumably, to follow)

Robin, one of The Disco Mermaids, seeks recommendations for picture books
that answer life's big questions, such as "Why your first girlfriend will inevitably
	break your heart…I don’t know why…but she will…and you’ll never forget her"

Poor Gregory K. is swabbing the decks at GottaBook

Brooke, a new blogger on the block, calls out the tearjerkers at The Brookeshelf

Jen Robinson celebrates National Literacy Day at Jen Robinson's Book Page

In a new "Ask Esme" column, Esme Raji Codell recommends biographies with a
Latin and Hispanic flavor at PlanetEsme's Book-A-Day Plan

Anastasia Suen shares top 10 query letter gaffes at Create/Relate, and
there's some doozies amongst them. Writers, beware!
